YOUTH DENTAL PROGRAM

For students in year levels 9, 10, 11 & 12 who are Health Care or Pensioner CONCESSION CARD HOLDERS or dependants

The Victorian State Government has recently announced the expansion of the School Dental Service (SDS) to concession card holders and dependants in year levels 9, 10, 11 and 12. This expansion of the SDS is called the YOUTH DENTAL PROGRAM.

How much does it cost ?
Dental care is provided FREE.

What type of care is provided ?
All general dental treatment including: Dental check ups and advice Dental sealants to prevent tooth decay Fillings

Who provides the care ?
Dental care will be provided at one of the 60 public dental clinics located within community health centres and hospitals across Victoria. Kealba College students have been designated to Dental Health Services Victioria, Sunshine, Western Hospital Sunshine Campus - Dental Clinic, Furlong Road, St. Albans, 3021 Tel: 8345 1251. For other dental clinics telephone: 1300 360 054.

How soon will the care be provided ?
You will be offered the first available appointment. You will not be placed on the waiting list. You may already be on the waiting list of a public dental clinic. If so, please contact the clinic to make an appointment without having to wait your turn.

How to obtain care ?
Make an appointment with the public dental clinic. Bring with you one of the following at your first appointment:
Health Care Card or
Pensioner Concession Card; or
Youth Allowance Certification; or
Education Maintenance Allowance Certification (your school will provide you with this upon request).

And … Youths aged under 18 who have left school and are Health Care or Pensioner Concession card holders (or dependents of holders) are also eligible for free dental care through the Youth Dental Program.
